I spent a day with Peter from Soulwood Creations, being tutored in the art of making a very unique axe. I travelled up to Yorkshire and stayed over, had a full English to start the day off. I learnt so much from Peter, how to use a draw knife and sopke shave correctly, how to facets at each step to get to the end result. I can’t recommended this experience enough, Peter is a lovely chap and generous with his time! Soon after, I booked on a day learning how to use my new axe to carve wooden spoons, along with honing my knife carving skills. Since then I have made about ten wooden axe carved spoons, you can see seven of mine in the gallery. I find the spoon carving process very therapeutic.
